Hi Hamed

you should study about  loadbalancing algorithms, so  u can start with Anton beloglazov papers who works in load balancing. in cloudsim, they balance loads using  migration vms from underutilized hosts or overutilized hosts. it is called vm level. u can also work in application level also in which u should predicate workload in future to avoid overutilization or underutilization. after u impelement ur algo, u can work with planetlab workloads. they r real workloads from COMON project. or u can use any swf format workload. it is amazing. i wish i could help u.

I want to get a Planetlab workload for 10 days continuously by CoMon query project, like the workload that Anton used it for his paper, as you know Anton's workload is for 10 days and it was captured for each days separately.. I studied some paper about CoMon's query , but I don't have enough time for studying it completely .

 

Any advice from you is helpful to me

the number of folders are 7. they r monitored for 7 days. each folder contains files that each file correspond to one vm for 24 hours. so what do u mean Anton did in 10 days!!!

there are10 folder in CloudSim version 3  and this is exactly the sentence that anton wrote in his paper (We evaluate the proposed algorithms by extensive simulation using the CloudSimtoolkit and the workload data from 10 days of the resource usage by more than a thousand PlanetLab VMs provisioned for multiple users.) . somehow this subject is not my problem , as you said in previous email, each folder contains files that each file correspond to one vm for 24 hours , but I want to gather information for each VM in 240 hours.

Hi seyyed, what do u mean u want to execute for 240hours!!!  they tested their simulation for a compelet day. for more accuracy, they repeated their simulation for 10 days. if u do for one day=24 hour=5seconds*288 instances , so u need a folder with for example 1033 vms that each correspond to a file with 288 number in it.  i wish u get what i am saying. if i am ambigous about ur wanting, plz clear me.

u should enable migration tag. this is in datacenter class. if u set this to true, it will do migration and in out put u can see what's happening.

for parrallel processing in cloud, u can use MapReduce techniques(although i have poor knowdlege ;)). in cloudsim it is very abstracted. u should study it then get idea.
