It's not a Safari problem, it's a PDF problem. The problem is that
some security features, like turning on encryption with some
parameters, are crashing the PDF renderer. Safari calls the PDF
renderer to display the PDF in a browser window, and that's what
causes the crash. It works properly with Adobe Reader, but there are
other issues with that.
I have submitted a bug at Apple, and a friend of mine who is a PDF
guru at Adobe is doing what he can, as well.
I suggest that we use vanilla PDF. We don't need the security features.
