OH, BEHAVE!

The 2021–2025 Oh, Behave! Report

is now available

Each year, the National Cybersecurity Alliance and CybSafe release research to better understand the public’s security behavior and to act as a call to action for better secure habits online.

With support from international partners across seven countries, this year's report polls more than 6,500 individuals in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, India, Brazil, and Mexico, exploring key cybersecurity behaviors and attitudes, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence.

TAKE A SNEAK PEEK AT THE FINDINGS

  • While awareness of multi-factor authentication (MFA) rose from 52% to 77%, regular MFA use fell to just 53% after peaking in 2022.

  • Human constraints remain a consistent barrier. Worry about cybercrime has climbed from 57% of respondents to 68%.
  • While more people are worried about cybercrime, many feel like they can't prevent it. 31% of participants now believe losing money online is unavoidable, up from 25%.
  • Scams are becoming increasingly common. In 2025, phishing accounted for 40% of reported cybercrime incidents.
