Hi all,

I am using a 6 machines cluster in Wisconsin. I have my own directory on /dev/sda1 and also a mounted directory to store all my related data on /dev/sda4 (~1TB).

The total capacity of my /dev/sda1 is 16 GB. Although I have only around 3-4 GB of information on this drive, it shows me the disk is 100%. Even if I delete some files (and the usage goes slightly down) it still grows and I have no idea why.

Could you recommend me how to investigate or what to do with this issue? I suspect is not a problem with my home directory but with some shared files, in general.

Hey Robert, is this on c220g2-011109.wisc.cloudlab.us, it looks like there was ~8.9GB of files under /users/rgrandl,  you can use the command 'du / -d 1 -x' to look at what's in the root fileystem.

Also I put a secondary mount of the root filesystem at /mnt/tmp so you can look at whats in there, you have about 5G that is under /users/rgrandl/storage in the root filesystem, which  as you have /dev/sda4 mounted over the top, makes it somewhat hidden.

Thanks a lot Mike. Based on your comments, I fixed my storage.
