Cannot open shell

I am trying to ssh into the node after growing the size with the  sudo RESIZEROOT=0 ./setup-grow-rootfs.sh but for some reason its not working - I even terminated the experiment and tried a new one still not opening 

I also tried 

  sudo systemctl mask sleep.target suspend.target hibernate.target hybrid-sleep.target

sudo ln -s /dev/null /etc/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service 

but the problem still persists
