Multicast frames not forwarded across node boundaries in VM network

Hi! 

When I have an experiment topology like in the attached image, multicast frames (e.g. STP) are not forwarded on the links between nodes. Is there anything I can do to ensure that these frames are forwarded?

I am using disableMACLearning() on these links, in case it makes a difference.

If that is not possible, is it possible to enforce "put all VMs on one physical host" (without having to specify a node type)?
