Planned power shutdowns for CloudLab Utah on January 14th/15th and January 21st/22nd

Hi all,

This morning we learned that the power utility for our datacenter would need to fully cut power to the datacenter twice over the next two weeks.  The first will be on January 14th at 10 PM MST to January 15th at 6 AM MST, and the second will be on January 21st at 10 PM MST to January 22nd at 6 AM MST.  On both occasions, we will begin cleanly shutting our equipment down starting at 9:30 PM.

For both of these downtimes, all CloudLab Utah and Apt nodes, storage servers, and experiment switches will fully lose power.  You will not be able to access any of your experiments during this time, and there is always a chance that equipment will not come back up properly following restoration of power.  You should make sure that any data that you care about is backed up off of your nodes prior to these two downtimes.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns, but know that we have no control over when these downtimes take place.  You should assume that they cannot and will not be rescheduled.

A reminder that this is happening starting tomorrow, January 14th at 10 PM MST, and we will start shutting nodes down at 9:30 PM MST.  Please ensure that any data you care about is backed up off of your nodes before then.  We expect restoration of power by 6 AM MST on January 15th.

Hi all,

Apologies for the extended delay in getting CloudLab Utah back on the air, but we have just re-enabled the cluster in the portal.  If your nodes are unresponsive, first try to reboot them from the experiment page, and if you still have issues, please let us know.

Hi all,

As far as we know, the power utility is still planning on a shutdown tomorrow, January 21st at 10 PM MST to January 22nd at 6 AM MST.  Please make sure you have saved off any important data from your nodes prior to this.
