Hello,

I had an experiment expire this morning on Wisconsin labs and was wondering how I could contact someone to potentially recover some important data before the machine is wiped?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to chime in on this, but I keep having this same problem even after submitting multiple extension requests. Whoever in charge of extension requests should be a bit more careful.

Thank you.

Shaun

Unfortunately, the node disks are wiped as soon as an experiment terminates.
I checked to make sure that the node from your experiment had not been taken out of service
after your experiment terminated, and thus might still have an intact disk, but that was not the case.

A quick follow up: All CloudLab users should *anticipate* and *plan for* the
fact that any CloudLab experiment they make will not be extended.

Hi. I am Eric Eide, one of the Co-directors of the Flux Research Group, which
operates CloudLab.

CloudLab is in heavy and continuous use by many people, who must share the
available resources. Someone may make a reservation that starts at the time
that your experiment/reservation ends. If that happens, CloudLab staff may not
be able to extend your experiment.

Knowing this, CloudLab users should *plan accordingly*. Do not put yourself in
a position to lose a lot of work because your experiment cannot be extended.

Eric.
