Modify ConnectX-5's firmware using mcra

Hi CloudLab admins,

Are we normal users allowed to modify configuration registers of ConnectX-5's firmware (I'm using C6525) ?

I was trying to use mcra command to modify some registers but failed. So I'm wondering if it is because this kind of operation is disabled on the machines of CloudLab.
