Hi,

I installed and booted into a custom kernel on the c220g1 node type (experiment status page).
On rebooting into the default kernel, I can access ssh, but console is still unreachable.
Rebooting into the custom kernel, I am able to ssh in, but after a few minutes, I can't ssh or use the web console for this node.
Web console shows the following error:
"The webpage at https://ops.wisc.cloudlab.us/webssh might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
I tried disabling NetworkManager based on other responses on this forum, but the problem still exists.
Is the SSH service being terminated? (If yes, why?)

I am attaching the latest console log with this post, if it will help debug this issue.
Please let me know if you need anything else from my end.

Thank you!

Hi,

Repinging this with an update. I instantiated a new experiment on the c220g1 node. Without any modifications, the webssh console doesn't work - giving same error as before.
Any assistance on this would really be helpful.

Hi. We did a cold boot on this node, and not seeing any problems at the moment.
Let us know. It might be necessary to take this node out of service if the
problem persists, so be sure to back up your data as soon as possible.

Thanks
Leigh

Got it!
I’m still unable to access the web browser console.
Although SSH and browser shell is now without error, even after loading the custom kernel.

Thank you,
Adney

Hi Leigh,

I am re-opening this thread, since I am facing the same issue, even after disabling the NetworkManager service.
The current experiment status page is here.

To re-iterate - the node works fine after a reboot for 5-10 minutes. After which the console displays "Connection Terminated", and SSH doesn't work either.

Could you please help with identifying what the underlying problem is?

Thank you.
