CloudI deployments are advantageous in both public clouds and private
installations to form private clouds. For supporting private use of
CloudI it is necessary to make some small changes to communication about
CloudI because some people have expressed concern in the past over
advertiser tracking. To address these concerns, the following steps
have been taken:
1) My email address for CloudI communication is now
mjt...@protonmail.com instead of
mjt...@gmail.com . The gmail email
address will continue to function, but all references to my email
address in CloudI source code and documentation have been changed to
mjt...@protonmail.com .
2) All links to
cloudi.org have been changed to HTTPS to ensure HTTPS is
preferred though plain-HTTP access will remain.
3) The addthis buttons have been removed from the
cloudi.org website
because the image loads have been used for advertiser tracking.
4) The Google Groups mailing list communication will need to move to
osdn.net because it provides a more neutral platform for communication
about open-source software.
These changes may seem odd and unnecessary to some, though they have
become important to ensure CloudI development supports private cloud
computing use by taking security concerns seriously in a global
context. If anyone has further security concerns related to CloudI,
feel free to contact me privately at
mjt...@protonmail.com .
To subscribe to the new CloudI Questions mailing list, please use the link:
https://lists.osdn.me/mailman/listinfo/cloudi-questions
All communication for future CloudI releases will use the new mailing
list (at the link above) and this old Google Groups mailing list will
remain only for historical interest.
Best Regards,
Michael
