Hello.

I have been interested in cloudi for a while, but have not had the opportunity to use it.  Traditional cloud services make no sense to me.

Now a potential client is considering AWS.  I think he should use Cloudi, but I do not have the
information to back it up.  There must be some great blog postings on this topic.

I would like to link to them from

The cloudi web siet has great technical information, but it needs more of a marketing interface/focus.  That is what I would like to provide with blogory.org/cloudi

If any one would like to help me build out that branch of blogory I would be most grateful.

Or if you are a python developer developer with AWS experience seeking a remote job, we should talk.

Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

AWS and CloudI are not mutually exclusive.  The CloudI website at http://cloudi.org is running on 4 EC2 instances within AWS, split between 2 regions and 2 availability zones per region (the config is at http://cloudi.org/config.html).

The main articles currently are:
http://www.toptal.com/erlang/a-cloud-at-the-lowest-level-built-in-erlang
http://www.toptal.com/erlang/modernizing-legacy-software-an-example-using-erlang-and-cloudi

The second article has a repository associated with it at https://github.com/okeuday/sillymud#readme .  So, those would be good articles to reference for some basic information about CloudI.

Marketing is not a priority for CloudI and instead Quality is the main priority.  There is nothing blocking marketing of CloudI, so there is no impediment to its growth or use.  However, there is no reason to encourage mindless adoption that would reduce the quality of CloudI as a project.  CloudI as a project is not meant to attract anyone that needs to use software because another company is using it.

CloudI is also not meant to facilitate technical recruiting.  So, there is no problem linking to CloudI articles.  However, I don't believe you should need help to do so given your qualifications (https://web.archive.org/web/20160210050327/http://blogory.org/person/1/resumefolder/resume/index).

Thanks,
Michael
