encryption and authentication

I've recently been asked to add encryption and authentication for
Cloud Haskell connections. Is there anyone here who would like these
features and has some suggestions on how they should work or how to
best implement them?

What kind of authentication are we talking about. Will there be a
master
node authenticating all the others or a more distributed approach? I'm
very
interested in implementing some distributed algorithm for
authentication of nodes,
but being only a youngster I'd need some help in the right direction.

Sorry about the late reply.
I'm not sure what kind of security is appropriate; that's something
I'm asking about. I imagine operating from a white list would be the
easiest solution.
