Some internal developments at Amazon - Merchant Technologies

Hi,

As a few of you know, I joined Amazon in in Seattle this September.  As a result, I have not been as active as either a moderator or a contributor to the cloud forum. 

I did not join AWS, but rather the Merchant Technologies team within Merchant Services.  Merchant Services helps some 1,700,000 individual and corporate sellers sell along with Amazon.

Based on growth and plans for the future, this area has become one of the "hot areas" within Amazon (we're hiring software development engineers and technical managers). So, to cut to the chase, the head of Merchant Technologies sent this out earlier today:

I am pleased to announce that Felipe Cabrera, VP and Distinguished Engineer will be joining the Merchant Technology organization reporting to me.  This is another important investment in our team that will greatly benefit our Sellers!

 

Felipe has been AWS’s Senior Principal Architect from nearly the beginning of AWS and now will bring his expertise and experience to the Seller [Merchant] Services organization

Point?  There's a lot happening at Amazon - I'm glad I could share this with you.
