Makes notes of which of your flying sites will be out of bounds.
I have created a transparent overlay (see attached) of the map for Google
Earth, so that you can see exactly what is inside and outside the affected
areas.
For example, Dolphin Beach, marked here, is NOT inside the two special event
restricted airspaces, however it is so close to the boundary, and hemmed in on
all sides, essentially making it almost impossible to fly PPG from our
favourite spot during this period.

Dear SAHPA members
Below is a synopsis regarding the World Cup Final draw in Cape Town from 29
November to 6 December 2009.
What this means is that all paraglider and hang glider and PPG pilots in Cape
Town will have to apply to SAHPA for authorisation to fly during this period
anywhere in the specifiedarea. This is similar to what was done in all areas
during the previoustesting time, as well as in Gauteng, etc, during the
Confederations Cup.
Please find attached the application forms and return them to SAHPA by
Wednesday, 25 November 2009to avoid any delays.

RESTRICTED AIR SPACE - CAPE TOWN
Important restrictions in the airspace around Cape Town have been
introduced for the period 29 November to 6 December 2009. These
restrictions are in place during the World Cup Final Draw. In the main
there will be a requirement for SAPS screening for any flight within
50 nautical miles of CTV VOR. These restrictions exclude scheduled
flights. All aircraft flying in that area will have to be transponder
equipped. There will be concessions for microlights and ultralights.
There are also two specific restricted areas which may not be entered
without prior permission. Full details of the restrictions, procedures
