Hello All.

Well, it's just over a week since the end of our 2012 trip to the paragliding haven of the Soca Valley, Slovenia. A BIG thanks to Lee, Dave, Simon and Fi for organising and guiding another wonderful trip, and to my fellow pilots for their good company and and all the fun. All of us learned huge lessons, I think, regardless of which week were there, and non-flyable episodes were put to good use with theory lessons and alternative pursuits in the Slovenian May sunshine.

The flying was excellent, with the Instructors setting what were, for me at least, some challenging tasks, designed to develop our technical skills and decision making ability in the mountains. However, all of the tasks were appropriately tailored to the individual's experience and learning needs, extending current ability and knowledge within safe limits with advice and tuition constantly available from both take off and the landing field, before and during the flights. The students had the training experience of a lifetime, and accomplished so much in the week with individual tuition in smooth conditions. And not forgetting Thee Pitrakou who burned her Red Ribbon!! Well done, Thee: the sky's the limit!!  What a fantastic way to train, and what wonderful place in which to do it!!!

Photographic evidence has been provided by most of us by means of Facebook, and my own humble efforts, with grateful contributions from Thee Pitrakou, are here:

......and, yes, the countdown's started to next year :-)

See you all on a hill or tow field soon. Fly high, fly safe.

Cheers for now,

John M
