We have a png file that has started to return "bad image data" error code 3 as of a couple days ago. We've processed this same file in the past and it didn't return an error. Any idea as to why we're seeing this message now? I've attached the png in question.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

I am able to reproduce this on our end. We are investigating. Do you have an exact date when this last worked?

Thanks,

Duane

I am pretty sure that I tested it successfully both on July 25 and July 26, unless my memory is failing me. It appears that we're having various other issues WRT the API which started on Friday, as well, so my hunch says that's when it broke. In the very least, it was absolutely functional, verifiably, prior to the release on the 24th.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the information. It turns out that your image has actually been causing us some problems and a safety was recently added to avoid overloading our resources. The image is a bit unusual in that it's very dense in features and some of those boxes/dots are actually detected as text, leading to a lot of processing consumed for it.

We are looking for a reasonable workaround and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Duane

Duane,

Has any progress been made on this issue? It's difficult to determine how we need to handle an error response because "bad image data" could refer to a conversion issue on our end, as well.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

There is a workaround proposed but it will take a bit of time to implement and deploy. I will update you when it is ready. Thank you for your patience.

Duane

Hello Tin,

Your issue might be totally different than the original issue. Your image is not dense at all.

Please open a new issue in Public Issue Tracker [1] or a support ticket - if you have the support package - for further investigation.
