Splitting up distributed-process-platform

A number of people have asked if distributed-process-platform can be spilt up into smaller components. The answer is yes and I will do this after I get a distributed-process (plus dependencies) release out this week. It will take some time however, as I need to figure out what to do with various un-merged branches before extract everything.
