Hi All,

In theory, this should be fairly straighforward but it seems to not be the case!

In the Google Cloud account, under App Engine > Set up > Custom Domain it appears that the DNS records are correct, there is an A record for mapping the domain setyouraction.com to the IP addresses and also a CNAME record for mapping the www variant to ghs.googlehosted.com.

However, when the SSL certificate attempts to install, there is an error generated (indicated by the exclamation mark) that says, "The DNS record could not be found", as seen below.
App engine - set up page.PNG
I ran the "gcloud compute ssl certificates list" command to check the status but this reported back with the error, "Insufficient permission: Request had insufficient authentication scopes" as seen below.

Has anyone else had this issue at all?

Look forward to hearing from anyone who may have overcome this issue!

Many thanks.

Hello,

In regards to the permission issue, I understand you are utilizing a VM instance. In this case, have you utilized the gcloud command "gcloud auth login"?
- This will authorize gcloud to have access to the Cloud Platform with Google user credentials.

It is also recommended to investigate that the DNS records are updated at the domain registrar, which is a documented process needed to verify the DNS accordingly. This is also known to cause issues with SSL certificates.

Kind regards.
