CALL FOR PAPERS
SocialSec 2014
First Workshop on Social Network Security
http://secret.cis.uab.edu/socialsec2014/
Aug 13-15, 2014, San Francisco, California, USA
In conjunction with the 15th IEEE International Conference on
Information Reuse and Integration (IRI '14)
http://www.ieee-iri.org
==================================================================================
Social Networking has become a major factor in our everyday lives. We
post, view, and disseminate vast quantities of information on online
social networks. However, this has given rise to a new threat to
security and privacy. As many people post a plethora of personal
information in social networks, malicious parties have misused this to
violate the confidentiality and privacy of personal information.
Social networking has also led to cases of stalking, cyber-bullying,
impersonations, malware and spam distribution, and large scale
surveillance. At the same time, the rise of social networks has
allowed security researchers to gather valuable data about human
behavior and trust relationships. In this workshop, we want to explore
the impact of online social networks on security and privacy.
The goal of this workshop is to discuss new research ideas associated
with Social Networking security and privacy. In particular, we seek
ideas, analyses, and evaluations of various aspects of security and
privacy in social networks
