Bigger Problem : I had locked many folders with this software when it was working fine.
But now I can't access those folders anymore, they're still locked but software doesn't show these folders in its "locked folders list".
How do I unlock them?
The software was working fine for few months - I was able to lock and unlock things in my computer during that period. But all of a sudden the software Folder Lock just got reset somehow.
I had the same problem. I was not able to retrieve my locked files but uninstall of folder lock without password is easily done by using for example speed commander (select folder lock from program files via speed commander and delete) Simple as that.(no password required) Can also be done with other file finding software as well.
The only way I know is to change the name of the parent directory in which the locked folder exists for example Pictures is the locked folder then change C:/Anything/Pictures to C:/Anything else/Pictures

Greetings! Our IT team has enabled file and folder lock functionality. However, there appears to be no documentation on any version of the Nextcloud User or Administration Manuals on this topic. Can someone please either refer me to the proper location where it can be found, or explain its functionality?
They are nice--but too knowledgeable. In other words--because they understand how the product works, they can't understand why a lay person doesn't understand simple functions. I code webpages and do all kinds of digital products so I am not ignorant--but I could not get the basic function for using a folder on a flash drive. There is somehting wrong when I can't figure out a basic function of a product.
I like the concept but found it difficult to use. The customer support was quick, but they understand the product and how to use it and so have difficulty understanding what the lay person does not get. I worked my way through getting it set up on the computer. I am fairly satisfied. My biggest complaint on the computer is that when you shut down computer and have the program off (you need to turn it off to work) it does not remind you to lock the folder again.

I would like to ask how the lock tabs feature can be used. I just updated to the latest version, 12.22 Light edition and I followed these instructions which were found in the manual:
"Folder tabs can be locked in a number of different ways. Primarily, when a tab is locked, it always displays the same folder. To lock a tab, right-click on it and choose a command from the context menu's Lock Tab menu."
(Something we have on our list to make built-in in the future. The current built-in purpose of locked tabs is more about keeping them from changing folders, as described in the manual screenshot in the post above mine.)
why do they not offer life time license of folder lock and does paid version have unlimited use on one computer in other words if i have 10 or 100,000 folders usb flash drives can i lock them but main thing is why do you no offer online chat or a way for customers to contact you i feel like any company like that isnt to on the up up im a paying customer and you not offer that plus the dumb faq and forums has nothing about this so for me to buy this software i wana know these things first
Right click on your Subversion working directory folder, and select TortoiseSVN->Clean Up from the Context Menu. This will recurse its way through your working directory and cleanup any incomplete actions, remove the local locks (which is different from using Subversion locking of a file in the repository which lets everyone know about the lock).
Right click on the locked file or folder, and select TortoiseSVN->Get lock... , and check on "[] Steal the locks" at the bottom left corner of the dialog, click "OK". If it complete successfully, that's ok. When you right click on the file again, you can see TortoiseSVN->Release lock..., click to unlock.
I had this happen after having Tortoise get corrupted and crash while trying to update folders. I ended up re-installing Tortoise, but the ghost lock was still present. From there I had to delete the folder and do a new checkout. Obviously I got really lucky that I didn't have any new changes to commit at the time. Anyhow, not great news, and if anyone has a better solution I'd love to hear it myself. Even using "Break Lock" ie unlock with the force option did not change anything.
I've been using the folder locker battery file for a while now without issue, until a few days ago when it started refusing to lock*, saying 'access is denied' before closing the window. I have tried running it as admin, which still doesn't lock the folder, but doesn't say 'access is denied' before closing. I have gone into windows defender and ensured the folder protection thing is off, which is the only fix I found with my own googling.
