Hi Spinners,
I want to encourage everyone - especially new members - do not feel like you need to 'know something' to come participate in something like the fleece washing. This is a great way to learn from more experienced folks. I know when I started, a raw fleece intimidated me. I thought I would felt it if I attempted anything! Now, if you saw the stash of raw fleece I am owned by... well, my husband would have all your sympathy! And, you would know why Emily has forbidden me to purchase any more (until I meet her de-stash standard)!
Emily & I had a great time washing fleeces at Becky's last week. So you know that if a 10 year old wasn't bored & enjoyed herself, well, you have accomplished something! (Wise Becky plied her with pastry too.)
We had enough folks to share the work (but more people is always more fun!). It is always interesting to see & hear how people do things in different ways. Becky did some experiments that were interesting and more gutsy than I would attempt! Just wait until you see the beautiful colored lamb fleece! Even muddy it was pretty!
So, don't be shy & come out for the next opportunity. See you then! - Rachel
