/opt/arcsight/manager/bin/arcsight deploylicense - this one will load the license without need to restart the manager. The problem is that this is kind of old and the documentation is not mention too much on it.
/opt/arcsight/manager/bin/arcsight managersetup - this command used for configureation of manager where one of the option is to load a new license. You need to move from one option to another until you will reach loading the license.
If you only want to forward log files from a specific directory on the universal forwarder to arcsight, don't you also need a inputs.conf somewhere? I'm already sending *.debug in rsyslog.conf, but now they want some log files watched as well.
I am trying to forward the data (simple logs) from a universal forwarder to a Archsight logger. For achieving this I am passing the IP address of the Archsight logger and the port number. I am passing the default TCP server credentials that are there for the Archsight logger. Still I do not see the logs getting established. is there any other configuration that needs to be done on the outputs.conf file. or logs that i can use to debug the issue further.
We have people doing this, and as long as the data is sent out in a syslog format, things should work without an issue. There shouldn't really be any limitations, we should be able to send out anything we've indexed with the rawdata contained within the event. What kind of limitations were you concerned about?
Licensing counts data which has been indexed by Splunk. What happens when that data is sent to a third party isn't going to affect the license as the data was already written to an index within Splunk. You don't need any additional licensing to implement this functionality. Support won't be affected in any way, but it ends where the data leaves the Indexer.
Well, you could do it from a heavy forwarder, because data is parsed there, but only after it has been indexed. That means you'd need to have an index configured and would be using licensing volume. There isn't a way to do this without having the data indexed. Again, nothing here that affects support, but your licensing will be impacted.
The task schedule user interface includes a button that generates a customized DDL which you can hand off to a database administrator for execution. Once the data source parameters are entered, click Generate Table Creation SQL. The task adds the following tables in database:

It is difficult to determine the host name or IP address of the account as the field is not constant in Application definition in IdentityIQ. Hence, customer can define a map in TaskDefinition and select the task added to export data in ArcSight table. The key in the map should be name of the application defined in IdentityIQ and value should be hostname, IP, or any string that ArcSight administrator understands.

The ArcSight module provides the following settings for configuring the behaviorof the module. These settings include ArcSight-specific options plus commonoptions that are supported by all Logstash modules.
A list of Event Broker URLs to use for establishing the initial connection to the cluster.This list should be in the form of host1:port1,host2:port2. These URLs arejust used for the initial connection to discover the full cluster membership(which may change dynamically). This list need not contain the full set ofservers. (You may want more than one in case a server is down.)
Security protocol to use, which can be either of PLAINTEXT, SSL, SASL_PLAINTEXT, SASL_SSL. If you specify anything other than PLAINTEXT then you need to also specify some of the options listed below.
