Hello,

I am a 3rd year Bachelor of Engineering student from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, India. I was checking out the Google Summer of Code 2013 Ideas page on clojure.org and came across the idea "Enhancing Clooj IDE". I am really interested in this project and would like to know as to how I can contribute. I recently started learning Clojure and have a good experience in GUI development using the Java Swing Framework. I have already forked the code on Github and am currently trying to understand the code. Could anyone please guide me as to how I can proceed?

Also, it has been mentioned on the site that Arthur Edelstein would be an ideal mentor for this project. I would like to know if he would be willing to be a mentor this project.

Regards,
Karthik Prabhu

Hi Karthik,

Sounds fun. What sorts of clooj enhancements are you thinking about?

Hi,

I was wondering if the enhancements posted on Github (https://github.com/arthuredelstein/clooj/issues?labels=enhancement&state=open) have been implemented yet. If not, I could work on those enhancements.

Also, I've noticed that on Linux clooj falls back to the "Metal" Look And Feel, whereas on Windows and Mac it uses the system look and feel. I'm not much fond of the Metal LAF and feel that it would be better if clooj uses the GTK LAF on Linux or a better cross platform LAF like Nimbus.
