I just posted an issue (
https://github.com/arthuredelstein/clooj/issues/108) describing why, until a certain project-opening bug is fixed, I can't use Clooj any more.
There are some other recent issues (e.g.
https://github.com/arthuredelstein/clooj/issues/88) that are also quite problematic, and would rule out Clooj for many uses.
I think this is quite sad, because Clooj is really the only thing that fills what I think is a really important niche in the Clojure ecosystem. In fact, I really dread having to deal with any of the other available Clojure development environments, to some extent for my own coding work but especially for teaching.
I gather that Arthur -- who has my eternal thanks for developing Clooj and supporting it for the length of time that he has -- is too busy to support it actively at this point. I can totally understand that.
But is there anyone else who has the skills and interest in doing this? I don't myself have the skills or time to do it, and I don't know how to motivate anyone else to do it.... but just in case anyone on this list is looking for a project to work on, which would have at least one big fan, I thought I'd describe the situation as I see it and express my support for any efforts that anyone can make toward a more actively supported Clooj in the future.
Thanks,
-Lee
