Now there are two Spring Tool Suite command prompts that don't work with CCW installed

I posted about this problem some time ago (https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/clojuredev-devel/7_mc7i30Vy4), but it seems that nothing has been done to look at this (let alone fix) on either the Spring or CCW side. The problem is now worse because the Grails integration that is available under STS (and standalone) also has the same kind of GUI command prompt that Roo first used and it too is affected by this issue which breaks the command completion that should work with ctrl+space. I'm not surprised and I'm guessing that the Spring guys used the same code in both projects. The thing is that whereas Roo might be a relatively unknown framework, Grails is quite popular and it's a shame that the Eclipse integration is broken by having CCW installed.

The problem exists with the latest versions of both products CCW (.91 beta) and STS 3.0 M2. A point worth mentioning is that ctrl+space is used for completion in other parts of Eclipse and this completion doesn't seem to be affected. Only the pop-up command prompts used by Roo and the Grails integration are broken.

Laurent, is it possible that you could look at this in the not too distant future?

I'm not a user of Grails or Roo, so I hope you understand I don't want
to spend too much time in trying to reproduce the bug.

Would you please provide a step by step explanation of how to get to
the bug (don't expect any knowledge about the Grails plugin from my
part)?

If it makes sense, please directly put this info to reproduce the
problem in the above mentioned issue.

I'll add the details to reproduce this in the issue you raised. Hopefully you can at least suggest what the problem might be even if it is something STS is doing wrong. I'll then bring it up in the Spring forum and maybe they can fix things for version 3.0 which should go final this month. They seem to be pretty willing to address things that are broken on their side, so if you would have more of a clue what the problem could be I'm sure it would help get to the bottom of this wherever the problem lies.

Ah, while we're at it, do you know where the source code for this sts/grails plugin is available (is it open source ??) ?

'coz after having been able to reproduce the problem, my next step will be to try and see what's wrong either on their or on our side, and being able to compare source codes would prove invaluable.

Hi Laurent,

I don't think the Grails integration is open source, but I'm pretty sure the devs wouldn't have a problem pointing you to the source if this would make it easier for you to track down the problem. I've updated the thread on the Spring STS forum (http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?106190-Roo-shell-command-completion-broken-with-Clojure-support-added) to bring the Grails breakage to their attention. Maybe you could comment there and ask for source pointers. Kris and other STS devs seem to be monitoring that group actively, esp. now that 3.0 is close to being finished.
