Hi all.

Cognitects are going to hold a working group on the ClojureBridge curriculum on Aug 13 at 6-8pm ET (subject to change - we're still firming up the date/time). I will attend in person here in Durham. If anyone here would like to be involved - either by Skyping in or by getting updated on what we're working on and lending hands to the effort - let me know, and we'll figure out how to make that happen.

Hi, Bridget!

I could probably dial in via Skype if y'all have video conferencing working. Either way, glad to help!

Great! I will open up a Skype session, then. If anyone wants to join, ping me ahead of time on Skype. I'm bridgethillyer

I confirmed the time as 6-8pm ET on 8/13.

That would be great Bridget. I _may_ be able to join via Skype as well although I have a lot going on that day and would probably have to bail before the end.

I have an interview scheduled at that time; I will not Skype in. I will read the minutes of the meeting, once posted.

For the working group this evening, I am going to present these options. If you're skyping in, I'll probably write these up on the whiteboard.

Choose your own adventure:

1. Current issues in github

a. They are triaged and marked “Ready” if they are up for grabs.

b. Teacher guide

2. New, creative curricula

a. Clojure tools/libraries

b. Entirely new, creative ways of teaching this type of material

3. Advanced curriculum

a. Split out current curriculum into beginner and advanced

b. Create entirely new advanced curriculum

4. Capstone app

a. Beginner

b. Advanced

We had the working group on the ClojureBridge curriculum with a number of Cognitects on Wed, 8/13, including Yoko and Lynn. Discussion ended up focusing on ideas for a new capstone app. Here is the list of ideas:

* Secret Santa sorter
* TODO App
* Processing/Quil
* Overtone
* Project Euler
* 4clojure
* Chat app
* Magic 8 Ball
* Eliza
* Zork
* Rock Paper Scissors
* TicTacToe

Lake pointed out a turtle implementation in Clojure: http://nakkaya.com/2010/01/09/a-simple-turtle-graphics-implementation-in-clojure/

I think there are a lot of good ideas there, but Quil had the most energy around it, so I think we're going to work on that some tomorrow.
