Super inspired by Carin Meier and Sam Aaron's keynote at Strange Loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_zW63dcZB0

I think Sonic Pi would be great for ClojureBridge: http://sonic-pi.net/

I was thinking the same, Bridget, but maybe as a ChickTech workshop like I mentioned before!

For those who don't know, ChickTech has an annual program in Oregon--and now San Francisco!--that teaches high school girls in grades 10 and 11 about various aspects of tech, both hardware and software.

I'll be mentoring for them throughout the 2014-2015 school year, and also helping out with their kick-off event in October. Originally, I was going to put on some kind of FP-related workshop at their kick-off event, as well, but then I took a new job, had to travel for five weeks straight, etc., and ended up just offering to help with organization-related stuff in October, instead.

That said, ChickTech organizers were wondering if some Clojure folks might want to do a workshop later in the year, and since Sonic Pi has already been used for K-12 workshops with great success, it seems like it'd be a good fit for ChickTech, as well!

If I get a vote, I think you should absolutely use Sonic Pi for this. Let us know how it goes!

And thanks for sharing about ChickTech. I think this is totally appropriate to post to the ClojureBridge Workshops list. Or is there a ClojureBridge SF list that would be more focused?

This is good information for both the alumni list and the SF-specific list. Are you on both of those?
