I'll be discussing Clojure with the New York Semantic Web Meetup Group
on August 7th:

http://semweb.meetup.com/25/calendar/8344273/

If you are interested in the semantic web, triple stores, graph
databases and query technology etc please join us.

I'll pose the question that seems to always get asked whenever you present:

Any chance this will be recorded? I'd be really interested in hearing it, but my chance of being there is nil.

Of course, slides would be better than nothing.

Thanks,
Eric

I'll second that... I'm currently shifting semantic web code from
Kawa to Clojure (and am quite happy with the migration).

Slide, notes or video would be much appreciated.

P.S. It's also just nice to hear that others are thinking the same way... :)

Will you be recording the session (it's a bit of a trip from The Patch)?

-k.

I can screencast-record my part, but that will only be about Clojure.
Someone else will be talking about Semantic Web, then we'll have a
discussion. Maybe I'll try to audio-record it all, given everyone's
permission.

Hi my name is Marco Neumann, I run the New York Semantic Web Meetup and organize the event on August 7. One of a at least two meetups: one to introduce concepts, investigate scope and a define a roadmap for an implementation, and a second meeting will be held later in the year to present the results of our collaboration. I am more than happy to see both presentations being recorded and published on the web as screencast-record.  We do not have a camera setup yet.

Rich Hickey will lead the Clojure and David Siegel the Semantic Web discussion. I am sure It will be a very interactive session with lots of opportunities to brainstorm possible use cases and technology implementations. The idea is that at the end of the meeting we have a good idea what we have to do and how to approach it. I will start to get the New York Semantic Web Meetup ready and used to Clojure in the next couple of days by compiling a list of links to Richs online presentations so we can focus more on the development and technology fusion aspects during the.

I am looking  forward to seeing you on August 7

Best,
Marco

Hi,

Were there any recordings of this session? In particular about the
Semantic Web and the following discussions (since there are already
some nice online sessions about Clojure).

Sorry if I missed some previous post about the publication of such
material, but I searched the google group and came up empty-handed.

Thanks,
Jakob

Hi Jacob,

David Siegel is in charge of the Semantic Web/Clojure development. He currently considers the implementation of a Prolog engine for Clojure! Nice!!! David is a member of the New York Semantic Web Meetup and I believe subscribed to this mailing list as well.

If you are interested please join his efforts to use Clojure for Semantic Web application development. As far as the recording goes I think that Rich did a screencast-record on the day, but the session was extremely interactive and I don't know how well that translates into his recording.

Again Thank You Rich and David for presenting at the New York Semantic Web Meetup!

Best,
Marco

Right. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but my presumption is the
level of interactivity reduces the recording's value for those who
were not there.
