Google Summer of Code project ideas?

Now is the time to collect project ideas for GSoC - in particular we are interested in finding projects that have a willing mentor. It seems like there may be some useful project areas in tooling which is why I am posting this here. Surely there are some debugger / linter / something or other project that would be a good fit?
