Maintenance on OSSRH is complete, and Nexus has been restarted. OSSRH should once again be available, both from the web UI or to any build tools.
In the past, upgrades to Nexus on http://oss.sonatype.org have had little to no impact on OSSRH users. There are two significant changes which OSSRH users need to be aware of with Nexus 2.4:
1. The Web UI will change after Nexus has been upgraded to 2.4. Please see Repository Management with Nexus, Section 10.4 [1] for details.
2. The implementation of closing and/or releasing staging repositories has changed. Users who perform these operations as part of their builds need to take some action.
Users who deploy to OSSRH using the following methods are UNAFFECTED;
* maven-deploy-plugin [2] -- Step 7 of the Sonatype OSS Maven Repository Usage Guide [3] assumes that you are using the maven-deploy-plugin.
* any other tool, that, like the maven-deploy-plugin, PUT's artifacts into snapshot or staging repositories
* Nexus Web UI
Users who automate the close and/or release of staging repositories as part of their builds are AFFECTED and will need to make the following changes:
* Users who currently use the nexus-maven-plugin [4] will have to switch to using the nexus-staging-maven-plugin [5], version 1.4.3
* Users who already use the nexus-staging-maven-plugin have to upgrade to version 1.4.3. This should be as simple as changing the version element of the plugin in your POM.
* Users who use nexus-ant-tasks will have to upgrade to version 1.4
* Users who are calling the REST API directly to close/release staging repositories you will need to consult the Nexus 2.4 API documentation [6] to determine what changes they may need to make.
