Doesanyone know the typical Idle speed in Drive? I thought it was like 900 to 1000 RPM. I just recently had my timing belt done by a shop and got the truck back tonight and it seems very sluggish and idles at like 700 RPM and sounds like it is choking itself out. It was very sluggish on the highway too. Its a 96 3.3L by the way.

You can be off a couple of teeth before the valves kiss the pistons. A couple of us have had t-belt issues like this. You can have them check the compression to see if the valves are closing properly.

I drove it again today and it does idle at 750 in drive but there is more vibration felt now like imbalance. It also has a hard time getting up to speed on the highway and maintaining 70 requires a lot more pedal than before. The garage is closed until after Christmas so I guess it has to wait...very disappointing and I know they are not going to want to open it back up the check the belt.

But if it barely maintains speed, and feels like you are sitting in a race car at idle, its off a tooth or two, i had a big thread complaining of the same symptoms after attempting my timing belt three or four times.

Once you can get a hold of the shop, and arrange a date, i would print off page EM-15 of the service manuals, and precariously leave it on the dash or passenger seat, (basically bringing the horse to water) see if they can figure it out. If they can't...get your money back.

OR be a baller and do it yourself, its very empowering to do something like that, once my buddy finally got the timing belt sorted (which was the craziest mechanical thing we had done to our rigs) on the 4th time of ripping the front of my engine apart, nothing stopped us, since then, i've swapped 2 engines, 3 transmissions, and rebuilt my front suspension, and just did my knock senor.

Mine idles at about 700/750 rpm in drive, warmed up, just as Towncivilian says. As the others say it seems like your timing belt is off a tooth or two. Do it yourself then you know it's done right (hopefully ). I think when I did mine it was about a 2 hour or so job, rad out, fan off, belts off, undo crank pulley nut (the hardest part), plastic covers off, timing marks, mark the teeth & back plate with whiteout or some such, loosen belt idler/adjuster, belt off, new belt on, replace everything & Bob's your uncle or your auntie if he's a cross dresser (British joke)

Thanks guys for the help! This was timing belt number 2 and it doesn't get the mileage it once used to everyday so I'm not sure there will be a third. Took it back to the shop and they swore up and down that everything was aligned but said they would look at it. Got a call 4 hours later and they said well it looks like the timing was off a little bit... stupid stupid. Picked it up and it drives as good as new again. I did have the trans flushed too so he was thinking it was related to that even though I knew he was talking out of his butt to cover himself. Last time I will be going there.. still was about half the price of having it done at the dealer.

Mr. Numbers worked for the Fargo Crime Syndicate as a hitman and enforcer. He was often paired with Mr. Wrench due to his ability to translate Wrench's sign language. Following the murder of Sam Hess, Wrench and Numbers were sent to investigate and discover who commited the murder. Their search led them to Lenny Potts, a local man who bore resemblence to Lorne Malvo. They took Lenny captive but were told that he is not the man they're looking for. They then took him out to a frozen lake, where they dropped him into a hole in the ice.

Their search later leads them to Lester Nygaard, who had a known history of being bullied by Hess. They kidnap him and take him out to be dropped into the lake, but he tases Numbers and escapes. Lester gets away by punching a police officer who happened to be on a nearby road, forcing him to take him into custody and drive him into town. Wrench and Numbers then fake a drunken brawl in a bar in order to be locked into the drunk tank along with Lester.

While locked up, Wrench and Numbers interrogate Lester. They put pressure onto his infected hand wound and muffle his screams with a sock until he gives up Malvo's name. Wrench and Numbers are then bailed out of jail, presumably by the Syndicate. They also retrieve a police file on Malvo, giving them enough information to track him down.

They later find Malvo and ambush him during a whiteout. They get in front of and behind Malvo's car and trap him between their cars. Wrench gets out and fires his handgun at Malvo, but is knocked down when Malvo slams the car door into him. Numbers then exits his car with an assault rifle and begins shooting at Malvo, but he escapes yet again and they lose him in the whiteout. Malvo manages to lure Numbers into a trap by cutting his hand and leaving a trail of blood in the snow. After following the trail, Numbers is stabbed in the back by Malvo. He tortures Numbers by twisting the knife until he reveals that the Fargo Syndicate had sent them. Malvo then slits Numbers' throat and leaves him to bleed out in the snow.

Lorne Malvo is the main antagonist of the first season of the television series Fargo. He is a manipulative hitman from Reno, Nevada who passes through Bemidji, Minnesota. While he is there, he influences a put-upon salesman Lester Nygaard with his malice and violence.

Lorne Malvo was a hitman working for Mr. Rundle in Reno, Nevada. He was hired to kidnap and presumably murder a man named Phil McCormick. He attacked Phil at his job and dragged him by his tie out to the parking garage where he stripped him to his underwear and tossed in in his trunk. On route to his destination, he hit a deer on the road and sustained a head injury. The crash caused his trunk to pop open, allowing Phil the chance to escape. Phil, however, died after running into the woods and freezing to death.

He went to the local hospital to get his wound examined, where he met Lester Nygaard. Lester told Malvo about how his nose was broken by Sam Hess, and about his long history of being bullied by Hess. Malvo then begins putting ideas in Lester's head about how Sam "doesn't deserve to draw breath." Lester makes a joke about killing Hess, but Malvo takes the suggestion seriously. He asks Lester for confirmation, asking "Yes or no?", but Lester gives no answer and leaves when his name is called. Later that day, Malvo visits Hess at his shop, insults his children, and states that he "just wanted to have a look" at him. That night, he murders Hess at a strip club by throwing a knife into the back of his head.

When Lester hears of Sam's death, he confronts Malvo at a local eatery and has even more violent ideas put into his head. Later that day, Lester murders his wife Pearl and calls Malvo for help. Lester planned to kill Malvo with his shotgun and pin the murder on him once he arrives, but local police chief Vern Thurman arrives firsts. Malvo appears when Vern is preparing to arrest Lester after spotting a blood trail leading to Pearl's corpse. It is then that Malvo shoots Vern twice with Lester's shotgun, with one of the pellets passing through Vern and lodging itself in Lester's hand. Malvo then goes downstairs and mysteriously disappears. He then steals Lester's car and is pulled over for speeding in Duluth, Minnesota. He threatens Deputy Gus Grimly, who lets him go out of fear.

The next day, Malvo visits a post office to retrieve a package sent by his employer which contains his new identity. The identity is Frank Peterson, a minister and respected member of the community. Lorne then meets with his next client, supermarket "king" Stavros Milos. Malvo is hired to track down the individual blackmailing Stavros, which he does after recognizing a smudge on the back of the note as the bronzer used by Don Chumph, the fitness trainer for Stavros' soon to be ex-wife. Malvo confronts Chumph and takes over the blackmail operation, using Don as his lackey in the endeavor. Deputy Gus Grimly, who had previously let Malvo go, spots him on the side of the road and arrests him for murder and car theft. While on the way to the police station, Malvo says "You're making a mistake", taunting him and saying that's what Gus will say a couple hours from now. At the station, Malvo alters his look with a pair of stolen glasses and other alterations to his attire. He uses his Frank Peterson persona to persuade the police to let him go. Gus is put on deskwork for the time being and he tells the captain "You're making a mistake". Hearing this, Malvo turns and smiles at Gus. When Gus confronts him on his way out asking how he could lie like that, Malvo gives him a riddle, asking "Did you know that the human eye can see more shades of green than any other color? My question for you is why. When you have the answer to my question, you'll have the answer to yours."
