Hi Νίκος

1. ClockTamer have 2 CMOS output (3.3 V tolerant), 2LVCMOS (~0.3V tolerant) and 3LVDS output. Normally 1 output is used for 1 physical connector.

2. Documentation from Noctar says it uses idt_ics844003i-04 chip for clock synthesizer. And valid ref_clk tolerance is LVCMOS/LVTTL, so you can use 2LVCMOS output from ClockTamer and 1-2LVDS with negative output termination to produce LVCMOS level.

3. Basic answer it depends. The real problem here is signal reflecting and distortion. The more frequency the more distortion you get in case of multiple physical connectors. Also take in mind if you're using multiple connections that all inputs must be properly terminated otherwise you may get completely unusable signal. Though 20 Mhz is not really high frequency I suggest to use 3-4 independent output in you case because single ClockTamer can provide it.

1. Buffered output will provide 1 or more physical connectors?
2. We need to connect to the same clock 3-4 PerVices Noctar cards that accept 20MHz external reference clock; is the buffered output sufficient? (http://www.pervices.com/docs/Noctar-User-Guide.pdf)
3. What is the max number of devices that the buffered output can drive?

Hello Sergey,

I have one more question for you.
how many meters can the GPS's antenna cable be?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Maximum length we've tested is 5m and it worked fine.
