Check this out:

THEFT ARREST: A man trying to sell gas service to an East Goshen Township resident was arrested after the resident later found his wallet missing, police said Monday. Hakeen Jamall Lemar, 22, was charged by Westtown-East Goshen police with theft and receiving stolen property, Lt. William Cahill said. The victim told police the solicitor and wallet were gone after he left the room to get a PECO bill to show the salesman Jan. 7 at his home in the first block of Mary Fran Drive. Arrested nearby, Lemar denied taking the wallet, which detectives found emptied of $203 in cash, the same amount found in Lemar’s possession, Cahill said. Lemar also was wanted by Abington police for forgery and theft, he said. Others who may suspect they were victimized are asked to call Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police at (610) 692-9600, ext. 216.

Civic Leaders,

I want to thank Jordyn Pusey from Roselle-BrackEx for this warning.  She has always struck me as sharp and astute to the angles that criminals may play to take advantage of the elderly and others.

Please pass this along to others in your community and hopefully we'll be able catch them before they victimize our neighbors.

Hi Bill and Nancy,

I had a very strange experience yesterday with some representatives from Commerce Energy. They came to my door and demanded that I show them my Delmarva Power bill to verify that the energy supplier was listed. When I refused, they claimed that I had to and that they would be back until I complied. They would not leave any information or even a business card, so I know they were up to something as they could not possibly have any authority to view personal billing documents.

Have you had any of these guys in your area, and should the public be warned? They were very high pressure and could possible confuse older citizens. I looked them up on BBB and there is a warning about their tactics in selling energy. FYI.
