DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TRAFFIC ALERT-IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SR 1/I-95 Interchange Project
SR 1 Northbound CLOSURE
WHEN: 10 PM until 5 AM each night, beginning on Monday, April 29 through Wednesday, May 1, pending weather
WHERE: SR 1 Northbound will be closed at Exit 162/Route 273
Detour: Traffic will follow Route 273 westbound to I-95 northbound and return to SR 1 northbound via Exit 4B.
Traffic will be permitted to continue along SR 1 northbound to the Christiana Mall. There will be a second detour in place at the Stanton-Christiana Road and Center Boulevard intersection for vehicles not traveling to the Christiana Mall, but missed the first detour at Route 273. Vehicles will be directed to turn left onto Stanton-Christiana Road, turn left onto the ramp to SR 1 southbound and then exit at Exit 162, then turn right onto Route 273 westbound and back to I-95 northbound.
WHEN: 10 PM on Thursday, May 2 until 5 AM on Friday, May 3
WHERE: SR 1 Northbound will be closed immediately following the I-95 Northbound exit ramp.
Detour: All traffic will be detoured to I-95 northbound to Route 141 northbound to I-95 southbound to Exit 4B, Churchmans Road back to SR 1/7.
WHAT: DelDOT’s contractor, Cherry Hill Construction will be installing bridge girders over SR 1 northbound travel lanes.
