Running lots of LED's off the Raspberry-Pi Dock

One problem with the Raspberry-Pi and peripherals is that the onboard Voltage Regulator of the Raspberry-Pi is almost totally committed to running the processor.

So you only get 50mA left over to power your peripherals.

I tried connecting 27xHigh-Brightness LEDs to my Pi and it works without a problem.
