So I have lost my Xfer records account cause I don't know the email address but I need serum back. Idk how I can retrieve my account back to get serum. Obviously I get that I can't just ask for serum with no proof that I bought it but I have the bank details which show I have paid . How can I get the email or just serum back ?
You should use the contact form on the Support tab of the website, list what usernames or email addresses you think have used ideally, and the date/time of purchase from your statement along with the Merchant ID it displays on that line item on your statement.
Hi Steve,
I rent serum through Splice and absolutely love it, so thanks so much for such an awesome plugin! I was wondering if you ever considered potentially releasing the effects in serum (like the distortion, hyper/dimension, delay, etc.) as separate plugins (or giving them to serum owners or something) so they could be used as effects on tracks outside of serum. I find I sometimes want an effect I only know how to make in serum on an instrument outside of it, and would love to have access to these effects. Is there currently a way to do this, and if not, have you considered potentially releasing them or making them accessible to serum users?
Thanks again for the awesome products.
Chris
Serum FX, It's just an alternate version of Serum that you can load on audio tracks as an effect.
Back when i was doing rent to own with splice you had to download it separately, I assume that is still the case.
You can download a version that authorizes with splice by logging into your account and going to this page:
-plugins
Download "Serum FX Installer"
By default all the oscillators and filter are off and audio goes straight to the fx section. Simple and easy.
You need to turn on "note latch mode" in the bottom right of the interface if you want to use the LFO's without sending in midi.
Wow - thanks so much! Just downloaded it and am looking forward to using it in the future. I never even saw it there, don't know how I missed it but thanks again for letting me know this is already a thing!
Once payments have started on Splice (after 3 days) you can find it in the Splice website (AFAIK) as well as here on xferrecords.com in "your account" - if you can't find that here and payments have started, use the contact form and mention your Splice username.
Hi,
I tried to purchase serum last night using my credit card which gave a green tick to say the info was correct then the next page said the card was denied. I then tried a different card which did the same thing. Both cards are valid and have sufficient credit to purchase serum.
I have since read through the forum and noticed that some people have had problems with address verification which is required in the U.K for payment to be made.
Can i just confirm that you haven't received any payment from me as i have 2 orders showing up in my account page and don't want to be charged for more than one serums as i only need one , Then ill just send you a manual payment if that's o.k through paypal.
Hi Leon,
It is normally (currently) for failed transactions to appear here on www.xferrecords.com. Your transactions indeed did not go through so you weren't charged. Our payment processor (Stripe) does not support UK Debit carts which use something called 3DAuth. The majority of purchase difficulties seem to stem from this.
Hey Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to check for me, I have now sent you the money through Paypal the account isn't the same name as this but I have made a note in the payment.
Thanks again buddy
Leon
Paypal is the best option for now ("send money" to [email protected] for the amount, e.g. US $189 for Serum), Paypal will be an integrated option soon (no leaving this website and waiting for me to manually fulfill the order).
Also, hopefully we can do some things to the Stripe implementation to prevent more of these issues. Also you could call your card issuer and ask them to relax fraud protection for the one transaction, some have told me they've done this successfully (and other's said they could not, so I guess it depends on the bank).

For some odd reason it wouldn't allow me to purchase serum yesterday. It never said my card was denied, but it continually said my transaction could not be processed due to a network error. I tried a few times but this same message appeared over and over again. So I tried again today (mind you I'm on the exact same network and have made zero adjustments to the network preferences) and it just went through with no problems at all. Just figured I'd let you know in case there was an internal issue! :)
Yes, you can do exactly that- alternatively you can contact me that email address too if you'd like me to send you a "money request" on paypal (I'm not sure the benefit, but some people have asked me to do that, maybe it makes the foreign currency conversion simple).
Yes, its still available, it should be available soon directly through this website as an "automatic" payment option (we're just ironing out a couple issues), but you can now use the contact form or [email protected] if you'd like me to send you a "money request" on paypal (perhaps useful for currency calculation if you aren't US based), or just "send money" on paypal.com yourself for $189 to [email protected], and I will process your order manually and notify you.
Another question: If I buy a license, am I allowed to use it on 2 PC's? I've got a tower PC to create music at home and a notebook which I use to quickly create some melodies or so when I have something on my mind while I'm somewhere on the way.
Try restarting the computer (apple menu->restart), this is apparently needed under High Sierra to reset the AU Cache. Then in Logic, you should see Serum under Instruments insert pop-up menu (software instrument fader, where ES1, ES2, Ultrabeat etc appear) under AudioUnits->Xfer Records.
so i restarted my computer, and i looked where you said i should (the place with the ES1 ES2 and ultrabeat Ect.) and i dont see serum, or audiounits or xfer records! Could you help me find it? or what i need to do to get it?
