Hello Ash,

this is what it looks like in Safari for Mac.
The problem with Firefox/Linux may be due to the use of a
"transparent" color for the text, possibly not supported yet.

Giulio, it's true, firefox under linux (but probably under mac and win
too) shows the selected text. I suggest you to set a css style to that
text, you can do a simple font-size:1pt; ... the text will be
selectable, but it will be very small and unreadable by anyone on our
backs

We have tried the very small font size trick on the /beta, but with
mixed results.

Opera, for example, would not allow you to set a very small font and
over-rule our setting showing the text with a regular-size font.

In any case, Firefox on Mac show the text almost like Safari. It looks
like some issues are probably triggered by some operating system
limits.

Ok, so you can try the new css text selection class of css3 (but i
don't know about opera support...... ie surely doesn't support it):
you can read more here: http://css-tricks.com/overriding-the-default-text-selection-color-with-css/

Firefox and safari/webkit support it

You've just to set the background as same as the text color

Hello Weu,

I have just tried the "css-trick", but it seems it is not working
within Clipperz.. :(
I will keep it in the to-do list anyway.

Thanks,

Giulio Cesare

I can confirm that this problem also exists in Firefox on Windows. I
tried it both in FF 3.5 and 3.6. They both have the problem. Chrome
on Windows has the problem too.
