iphone native application

Just wondering if any progress had been made on a native iPhone/iOS
application?

Biggest plus for having this is not having to type out my long "master
password" each time I wanted to grab a password (and copy it into the
clipboard) - I know this kind of defeats the purpose of having a long
master password, but password requirements on my iPhone are less
stringent (for whatever reason). The app would cache the master
password (that I'd have to enter in the app settings anyway), but
synchronise with the clipperz site on a schedule (or manually if i so
chose).

I'm rambling here (and not particularly technical), but how easy would
it be for this native app to query clipperz for the list of cards
stored, and then as the user goes into each one, another query is
issued for the fields, and so on?

Just trying to think of easy ways to have the awesome functionality of
clipperz on my iOS device without having to fiddle around with offline
copies (which work fine, just fiddly), or logging in each time with my
long password (that is a hassle to type with thumbs).

Hello Damian,

we are still trying to find a convenient and safe way to handle
passphrase typing into the iPhone/Android phone.

We will probably stay away from the native application for a long list
of reasons (restrictions on crypto code for foreign company being not
the last one), but we would really love to have a fully featured
webapp to access your Clipperz data.

The main issue we need to solve before being able to implement a
really compelling solution, is synchronization. Until than, we would
have to opt for a read-only mobile version of the application.

The passphrase typing issue is still relevant anyway.

At the moment we do not have a real sound solution to your really
spot-on issues. Sorry. :(

Best regards,

Giulio Cesare

If you do make a webapp, could you please integrate one-touch copying
of the password for iOS, preferably without having to display the
password on the screen? I've seen it done on another password safe
webapp (pw.ex.to), but that is mobile-only (and it does display the
password on-screen). Also, I would be in support of a native
application that would work like this: you enter your credentials, it
syncs with the server and stores it on the iPod Touch/iPhone in
unencrypted format (circumventing crypto restrictions). The reason for
this is that I only have an iPod Touch and an LG Dare (which barely
supports like the first version of Gmail mobile in its browser) and
I'm out in public a lot without Wi-Fi. I do use your offline feature,
but dragging along my laptop everywhere is simply not practical. Now
I'm just rambling, but please consider my ideas. Thx!

Hi Adam,
first of all sorry for the huge delay in answering you!

Your suggestions do make sense and we understand that a native app
could provide a number of benefits compared to a mobile web app.
However we do not have the resources to provide iOS, Androis, Palm,
BB, ... versions and we hope that full support of HTML5 for mobile
browsers could solve most of the current limitations.

Thanks,
Marco
