I have recently started learning Web scraping using Scrapy in python and am facing issues with scraping data from AccuWeather.org site ( -2/may-weather/328328?year=2020).Basically I am capturing dates and its weather temperature for my reporting purpose. When inspected the site I found too many div tags so getting confused to write the code. Hence thought I would seek experts help on this.

I've tried to read some websites that gave me the same error. It happens because some websites don't allow web scraping on them. To get data from these websites, you would probably need to use their API if they have one.Fortunately, AccuWeather has made it easy to use their API (unlike other APIs):

AccuWeather has pretty good documentation about their API here, yet I will show you how to use the most useful ones. You will need to have the location key of the city you want to get the weather from, that is shown in the URL of its weather page, for example, London's URL is www.accuweather.com/en/gb/london/ec4a-2/weather-forecast/328328, so its location key is 328328.

After noticing a correlation between Accuweather and the in-game weather in Pokemon Go, I began taking screenshots of both apps to see how closely it matched. What I discovered is that Pokemon Go doesn't draw weather data from the main forecast screen in Accuweather, which tends to update in real time, but it does appear to take its in-game weather from Accuweather's "hourly" forecast for the following hour.

I've been following these patterns for several days and, despite a couple of anomalous hours, it's been extremely accurate. You can even see one screenshot sequence where the weather predicted "mostly cloudy with showers" and the game produced cloudy weather with in-map rain. Obviously, it's a very small data set, but I am noticing enough of a pattern to be fairly confident about what I've observed. I believe that using the "hourly" tab on Accuweather to predict what the in-game weather is likely to do over the next couple of hours could be very helpful if you are farming certain Pokemon or planning to visit a nest. A nearby Mudkip nest went crazy during a rainy hour the other day.

Get the latest weather data with the AccuWeather Integration. The AccuWeather integration is available in all Bridge accounts by default and can be found on the left hand side of the workflow Designer when creating a blank workflow, creating one from the Bridge Solution Center or opening an existing workflow.

Context is King
Recently, Google introduced the new Android Awareness API, which brings together all of the data drawn from the sensors on mobile devices to provide the clearest picture of the user. The API will offer data from seven signals including time, location, places, beacons, headphones, activity, and yes, weather.

Of course, with all this data anonymously aggregated these connected devices are opening new possibilities for big data driven studies, like the one we did with Withings which correlates weather and levels of activity for major cities across the world.

Earlier this summer, Accuweather made headlines for sending location data from users of its app to third parties in order monetize that data through targeted ads. The company was sending the data even if users had turned off location sharing, a security researcher found.
