Hi,
Dear Clinica developers;

I made a mistake in downloading ADNI data. I downloaded original images and now after downloading near 250 GB of data, I see that it's working only on preprocessed images.

what happens if I run Clinica on original images?

Thanks.

Hi!

Thanks for using Clinica!

My current understanding of the converter is that many of this "original" images will be simply discarded by Clinica. I would advise you to wait for the downloading of the images with "preprocessing" (i.e. with Gradwarp, etc).

Best,
Alexandre

Hi Alexandre,

I've downloaded the "preprocessed" images, but I remembered I saw using "original" images in the documentation of ADNI to BIDS converter. please explain it more specifically for other new users to not make the same mistake as me.

the link of Clinica's documentation:

Thanks,

Kind Regards,

Maryam

Dear Dr. Routier,

I found that Clinica can not work with the original raw image directly, which will not generate a valid image path in csv file and convert images to BIDS format. Is it mandatory to use the preprocessed images provided by ADNI?

Best wishes,
Peng

Hello,

Mr Routier does not work with us anymore, so allow me to reply. Depending on the version of ADNI, clinica can take preprocessed or original images. For ADNI 3, you can work with original images but for any other previous version you have to have the pre-processed images. If you want to know in details how are selected images you can look at this section on our documentation, for the modality of your choice.

Hope this helps,

Alice

Dear Dr. Joubert,

Thanks for sharing the details of how Clinica works with different types of data. I would try with processed images.

Best wishes,
Peng
