Hello,

i regulary get errors (50% of the requests) when surfing the internet via a squid proxy. Squid tells me "Connection failed, (101) network unreachable".
I am using a linux-box to route the requests from a LAN to my providers by an ISDN dial-in connection. There is also a firewall installed.

Can anybody tell me how to use squid in this constelation? Do I have to tell squid to wait while connection (2 or 3 sec.)? Does my problem appear because of the firewall?

Thanx for your support, Kilian

Sounds like your routing setup for the automatic-dial ISDN line is
messed up. Usually you have to blackhole the default route while the
link is down to make sure the routing is always functional and does not
return "network unreachable".
