Chris Mutters multia arrived from Vienna some days ago.

My problem now ist that it doesn't do anything. After power up
the led on the backside flashes but there's no output on
the graphics port or on the serial port. (vga monitor goes in
powersave mode)

Chris had the machine connected to a vt320 terminal, so i tried
to connect it to my laptop with a crossover serial cable - still
no output.

Any hints from someone who is running a multia ?

Greetings, Tom

The LED on the back actually gives an error code, they are detailed
somewhere on the net if you look. Are you sure you remembered to use ECC
RAM? It won't even boot with regular RAM.

I have a multia.. dead now, but it had been working.. what you're
describing sounds like the multia death syndrome. There's a chip that is
known to overheat and die, causing the whole thing to stop working. Check
out this URL: http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/alpha/multiafaq.html#heat-death
