If your instructor informs you that feedback is available for the activity, you can view the feedback from the respective tool. Depending on how Brightspace is configured for your institution, there are several ways you can view feedback: Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, and Grades.

The graded rubric for the activity includes achieved criteria, personalized feedback, and score. In some cases, the activity includes a link to the graded rubric. For example, a discussion shows instructor feedback, score, and a link to the graded rubric.

Note: Depending on how Brightspace is configured in your organization, you may also go to Grades, User Progress, and Content to see completed rubric feedback for activities. In User Progress, you can only see the names of the rubrics if there are multiple rubrics attached to an activity.

Teachers can use Annotations to give feedback in Brightspace. This allows them to mark or underline an assignment you handed in, as well as add drawings, text boxes, notes, lines, arrows and frames. You can view these annotations and use them when writing a new version of your assignment.

Below the heading Comments and Assessments you will see the inline feedback when this has been provided. Click View Inline Feedback to see the annotations. The assignment with the annotations will open in a new window.

Pay When you submit a document that contains (detailed) graphs, formulas, or diagrams, it could look different compared to the original document when you've received inline feedback. This is because Brightspace turns the document into a PDF.

D2L allows instructors to leave feedback in multiple ways for assignments submissions: text feedback, feedback on a rubric, in line feedback written directly on the submitted document in D2L, attaching a new file with feedback written directly on a copy of the submitted document and GradeMark markup written directly on the submitted document through a integration with Turnitin. Your instructor may choose to use any or a combination of these types of feedback.

When in the assignments area, locate the Assignment to which a submission has been made. When the instructor has left feedback related to the assignment, a "Feedback: Unread" link will appear in the "Evaluation Status" column. Select the link.

Note: If your professor has marked up a document with corrections or provided feedback as an audio or video file, you will need to follow the instructions below to access your grade and feedback for a specific assignment.

This is a question instructors ask frequently, and there could be a few different reasons why it occurs. This can include not being able to see scores on a quiz, feedback an instructor has entered for individual quiz questions, or both. Here are some things to check when this issue comes up.

SUNY has created surveys for faculty and for students to provide feedback on D2L Brightspace, the new Digital Learning Environment that debuted at campuses across the state for the fall 2022 semester.

Assess student progress in a low-stakes setting through Surveys and Self Assessment in Brightspace. Surveys and Self Assessments are excellent tools that enable learners to provide feedback on how well they think they are doing with course material. Surveys and self assessments are not graded in Brightspace, making them a low-stakes activity to assess how effective the course was at meeting learning objectives. As a reflective tool, instructors can utilize surveys to gauge abilities as an instructor, the relevance of course materials, and the student experience as a whole in the class.

Surveys are an excellent way to solicit feedback from participants regarding any aspect of a course. You can gather anonymous or non-anonymous opinions and information from users. Unlike quizzes, survey questions do not require right or wrong answers and Likert-style rating questions are possible. Create surveys and use the statistics tools to monitor current course trends, seek opinions and assess user satisfaction.

Self assessments are a formative assessment tool that can provide learners with immediate feedback on their responses to a series of questions. They can also be used to make sure that they are deepening their knowledge and confidence with respect to the course and material through reflective learning and course material comprehension. In addition to being able to receive feedback on their own performance, students can help instructors identify areas of improvement.

Self Assessments can utilize the same questions that are available in the question library. It can be used interchangeably with other assessment tools such as Quizzes, Surveys, and Self Assessments. Questions can also be equipped with hints and feedback to help improve content comprehension. In some types of questions, you can provide additional feedback on the details that instructors are looking for in an answer.

Annotate a Brightspace assignment submission submitted to an assignments folder in a Brightspace course to provide quick feedback to students without having to open their original documents. Available annotations include freehand drawing, highlighting, and comments (e.g., sticky notes). Once published, students can see your annotations and download a PDF copy of their document with your annotations included.

Course announcements work differently in Brightspace than in Blackboard. There is no option to Send an Email inside the Announcements tool. The work around is to send an email to students and link to an announcement. Or encourage your students to install the Brightspace Pulse App to receive instant feedback and notifications on their phone.
