Music and poetry take centre stage on the first night of the Leytonstone Festival, with a green theme throughout and a pedal-powered sound system to boot. A vibrant evening organised by E11 Eco, Transition Leytonstone's ecopoetry performance group. Guests include ceilidh band Green Kite Midnight*,The Carbon Town Cryer and slam poet Danny Chivers**. Sounds excellent : there are just a few times when I regret not living in London...

My cupboard door used to display a poster which said “GREENs like to PARTY” in the middle of a sunflower...
