FYI folks
May I gently and warmly echo Paul Jowitt’s wise words below.
If I have consciously or unconsciously elevated anything, rather than cooled it, then I apologise unreservedly
My admiration and respect for everyone on this group is massive, in all our strengths and frailties, and I want to support all of you with every sinew in my body.
If I have ever been remotely ungracious to Oliver in the past, that will have been my frustration that it looked as if he wanted his work and ideas to diminish C&C’s momentum and coherence, rather than reinforce it, and if i had that wrong, i am truly sorry.
In truth there isn’t really that much discrepancy between what we are all saying and doing and advocating, so surely we can meld the best of everyone’s thesis, and find the reinforcement potential.
That way we can collectively be so much more inspirational to those outside... who might currently wonder what the hell this bunch of ‘experts’ is doing... chopping changing churning and chastising
And surely the task ahead is so big it needs the world banks AND national governments, AND some third uniting organisation (?) surely... to oversee the task in hand.
Battles of ideas are important things, but not if we stop pulling on the tiller... with all our bodily strength... all at the same time... along roughly the same vector...
On a canal and tow path many cart horses can pull narrowboats along gracefully... pulling on ropes at a variety of angles to the direction of momentum.
And we are all pulling on the same tiller in the same direction to avoid the same tragedy... so unite?... YES WE CAN
I admire, respect and want to support everyone on this group, and if there is any way we can get back to some sort of calm convergence of purpose, that would make my day
Think of it as the Karma before the Storm-a

Colleagues
I think a bit of local cooling might be advisable here - otherwise, rather like the planet, things will heat up uncontrollably.
Given that we share the same objective, that would be a tragedy, in fact, a tragedy of the commons.
