True Finns Party (Perussuomalaiset – Sannfinländarna) demands U-turn from the next Government for Finland’s climate- and energy policy. According to the party, the government must inform the UN and the EU about the moratorium, that the Finnish government will ask for extra time and wants to abandon the current emissions trading system.
True Finns Party presented its views about the climate and considers, that Finland must make initiative to change into so-called industry-specific emissions system, where the emission targets are defined according to a benchmark of each type of industrial activity. If any factory does not meet up with its benchmark expectations, it must pay for the excess. The payments are directed towards climate related investments.
The Party defends the need for the climate policy U-turn especially by the need to support the Finnish industries. Emissions trading system, according to the party, does not account fully for the past climate change related investments made by the companies, where the Finns are in many respects more advanced than the other countries.
When asked for estimate about how easily the other countries could be sold their idea about the climate policy U-turn, the party leader Timo Soini commented:
"It won’t be easy, but if the disciples [of Jesus] had believed in consensus, then it would have meant that the gospel would have never been preached."
According to him, this proposal will be taken to the negotiations about the forming of the next Finnish government. but Soini would not make it as the condition for joining the next government.

Perussuomalaiset vaatii seuraavalta hallitukselta suunnanmuutosta Suomen ilmasto- ja energiapolitiikkaan.
Puolueen mielestä hallituksen pitää ilmoittaa YK:lle ja EU:lle, että se ottaa yksipuolisen aikalisän ja haluaa luopua nykyisestä päästökauppajärjestelmästä.
Ilmastonäkemyksiään esitellyt perussuomalaiset katsoo, että Suomen pitää tehdä aloite siirtymisestä niin sanottuun ominaispäästöjärjestelmän, jossa eri teollisuudenalojen päästötavoitteet määritellään alakohtaisesti. Jos tietty tuotantolaitos ei pääse tavoitteisiin, sen pitää maksaa ylityksestä. Maksut ohjattaisiin ilmastoinvestointeihin.
Puolue perustelee suunnanmuutoksen tarvetta erityisesti suomalaisen teollisuuden tukemisella. Päästökauppajärjestelmä ei sen mielestä huomioi yritysten jo tekemiä ilmastoinvestointeja, joissa suomalaiset ovat monilta osin muita maita pidemmällä.
Pyydettäessä arviota siitä, miten helposti muut maat saisi ilmastopolitiikan täyskäännökseen mukaan, puolueen puheenjohtaja Timo Soini turvautui letkautukseen.
"Helppoa ei ole, mutta jos opetuslapset olisivat uskoneet konsensukseen, siinä olisi jäänyt evankeliumi levittämättä."
Hänen mukaansa esitys viedään hallitusneuvotteluihin, mutta hallitukseen lähtemisen kynnyskysymykseksi Soini ei asiaa nosta.

True Finns Party rises to the second place in the gallups

The Finnish Finance Minister of The National Coalition Party (Kokoomus) Jyrki Katainen and True Finns Party's Member of European Parliament (MEP) Timo Soini discussed at the cafe of the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta), in January.
The True Finns Party (Perussuomalaiset, Sannfinländarna) is now Finland's second largest party. In about a month the party has left The Social Democratic Party of Finland (Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue, Finlands Socialdemokratiska Parti) and The Centre Party (Suomen Keskusta, Centern i Finland) trailing it. At the moment True Finns would receive 18,4 per cent of the votes from the Finnish citizens.
The information about the public opinion was obtained by Helsingin Sanomat's gallup that was conducted by TNS Gallup.
The most popular party at 20,7 per cent popularity continues to be The National Coalition Party (Kokoomus), whose popularity has increased by half a per cent from the gallup conducted a month ago.
The Centre Party has its support staying at 18,3 per cent, which has practically remained unchanged since February gallup.
The downhill of The Social Democratic Party of Finland (Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue) continues. The Social Democrats would receive now 17,4 per cent of the votes, which is half a percent less than in the previous gallup.
The changes in support of the other parties have been mostly small. After the four largest parties the order with percentages is as follows: The Green League (Vihreä liitto, Gröna Förbundet) 8,8%, , The Left Alliance (Vasemmistoliitto, Vänsterförbundet) 7,8% and Swedish People's Party of Finland (Svenska folkpartiet i Finland, Suomen ruotsalainen kansanpuolue) 4,1%, . The Christian Democrats (Kristillisdemokraatit, Kristdemokraterna) support continues to fall after the end of autumn small rise and is now 3,5%.
The gallup interviewed about 2 500 people 21.2.–16.3. The error margin is two per cent both ways for the largest parties.
