Thanks for your support
Ladies and Gentleman,
As we come to the close of E-conference on Climate Change and the Himalayan Glaciers, 7-30 May 2007, it is my pleasure to deliver the vote of thanks to all who have helped make this event such a success.
We have been privileged to be associated with this historic discourse on various aspects of climate change and the himalayan glaciers, glacial lakes, glacial lake outburst flood and associated hazards. It's our honour to be entrusted by around one hundred-and-fifty climate change experts and patricians from twenty-six countries including two third from himalayan region and rest from other parts of the world.
We are deeply indebted to all the discussants for providing factual ground facilitating a scientific debate, articulating the voice of reason, the voice of humanity and the voice of civilised thinking, shifting our understanding of climate change to a new level and relating it with good science and better society.
Our Sincere thanks to Dr. Narpat S. Jodha, for providing his valuable time to go through each mail sent to the forum and commenting a pure scientific issue in a very simple language, so one can easily understand.
We would like to thank Dr. Arun Bhakta Shrestha and Mr. Samjwal Ratna Bajracharya from the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Dr. Danda Pani Adhikary from the Tribhuvan University, Mr. Sandeep Chamling Rai from the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF Nepal Chapter), Mr. Ngamindra Dahal from the National trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) and Dr. Madan Koirala Form the Environmentalists' Association of Nepal (EAN)/Tribhuvan University (TU) for making this event come true for all of us. We unfeignedly believe that your moderation comments and suggestions have helped us to ease the discussion and focus the debate on the e-conference theme making us easier to produce a convenient, reliable and trustful science in a consolidated manner.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to all the participants who joined us, encouraged and increased our confidence and let us organise one of the most participatory, representative and intellectual discourse on science of climate change focusing the himalayan glaciers.
We also like to thank Environmentalists' Association of Nepal and the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, Government of Nepal for realizing a need for discussion on this issue and recognizing our work and providing necessary consultations.
Thanks also to go to all the organisations and individuals who have contributed us in any way, directly or indirectly.
Dear Colleagues, you will be glad to know that, as suggested by some of the participants during the e-conference, ClimateHimalaya team is planning to develop an e-network of water and climate change professionals to keep the movement against climate live and effective. The network will be an absolute voluntary alliance and will be open to all. Details will be circulated later by our team.
Letterer of appreciation and feedback forms will send to you shortly and after analysing your feedback, team will decide, whether we should continue our e-discussion approach in near future or not?
We are looking forward to work with all of you in near future and dreaming to be a part of campaign ensuring a "Safe Himalaya".
Thank you all. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
………
