Dear Colleagues,
When you are talking about reassessing the factors and criteria to develop a list of dangerous glacial lakes (and other glaciers), I have a bad news to share that last Saturday night a large scale avalanche in Dolpa district, northwestern Nepal killed at least sixteen people. According to the source about three dozens are still missing. It was neither cited as danger nor seen as a potential threat by the experts. It's a big lesson for us urging to consider other dimensions of danger as well.
Best,
Tek
