
Odisha Climate Change Confederation of Organisations members visit TERI

The governning body members of the OCCCO visited the TERI establishments in
a bid to sensitise the staff and the researchers about the Climate Change
issues impacting Odisha.
There was astounding response from the niche group of TERI who have been
pioneer in putting together the concepts of climate change under the able
leadership of Prof R.K.Pachauri, Nobel Laureatte, member IPCC, USA. The
programme was attended by Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra and Jal Purush Rajendra
Singh Rana, Raman Magasaysay awardee on behalf of OCCCO and the Rastriya Jal
Biradri while the TERI establishment was represented by the Vice-Chancellor
Prof B.R.Bakshi, Dr Ashok Basistha and others from the Dept of Natural
Resourses, Climate Studies, Water Resourses, etc.
The seminar was conducted as a bid to cause awareness before the commencement
of the River Policy Declarations at Doula, Baghpat, U.P. Discussions very made
regarding the need of a WATER POLICY, RIVER POLICY and the CLIMATE CHANGE
INITIATIVES 2010 made by the OCCCO, Bhubaneswar as also the RJB, New Delhi.
